I don't know whether you could use some of the mapping Web Services
available on the web to get map co-ords, I would expect that there is a
calculation to work out the distance between two different longitude and
latitude co-ords.
My Best advice... Google it... There will be a service out there
somewhere, which you may or may not have to pay for.
Look at web sites like auto trader, they use that kind of technology to
work out the distance between two places.
Here a good place to start, this ones free, but be warned the big
services providers like yahoo, google etc, may offer you a free service
today that either disappears tomorrow, or becomes a pay service.
http://developer.yahoo.com/search/local/V3/localSearch.html
However....
I would advise that if you want to go down this route you find a
reputable mapping vendor, of which there are a lot, and use their API's
and Services to do this. E.g. http://www.mapinfo.com/

4.1SP3, XP
Hi again,
We're getting fancy here now...
My client has asked if there is a way to find distance between two
postcodes in the application. A kind of mapping solution. So they can
assign the closest worker to the client.
I'm sure there must be some active x software available, or online
somehow, but have done nothing similar to this before.
Anyone have any pointers/URLs?
Cheers,
