Disaster Recovery using Software Replication With renewed emphasis on
protecting companies from disasters and the realisation that a disaster
can strike at any time and at any part of the IT infrastructure, the
question is: \"How would your business survive such a disaster?\" Many
companies are not prepared for a major disaster; this is for many
reasons, one of which is financial. Downtime has a cost, extended
downtime can have a huge cost, and it is not unknown for that cost being
the company going bankrupt. Replication is one of the methods for
defending against a disaster. Please join John Smedley, Ingres Sr.
Architect as he discusses disaster recovery mechanisms using software
replication. He will highlight some of the choices, advantages and
disadvantages in the various solutions.
