[Openroad-users] Appserver problem with the EURO sign

Hi All,

For a while now, we've been using a combination of stateful and stateless SCP calls to the OR appserver from both .Net and OR client applications, with considerable success. Recently, we've stumbled across the following error at the a/s end, when the XML parameter p_so_xmlin sent from the .Net form contains a '€' sign in one of the text fields: 

	Error Message :OSCA fatal error.
	i_error_no = 5, v_msg_txt = 'ERROR IN GSCP uc_wfm_interface_wm_Request: XML IN conversion failed.  Load: Invalid filename or empty string passed.'

The error is due to the input XML file received being empty, but stepping through the .Net code proves that the XML file is in fact intact at the time the COM ASO session object call is made. Oddly enough, the call works just fine with the same data and using the same a/s application, when sent from an OR client (using CurRemoteServer).

Is this a known issue and if so, is there a workaround other than the obvious i.e. encoding the € sign at the client & then decoding at the a/s? Also, are there any other special characters that are not supported? The server hosting the a/s (Windows Server 2003 SP1) is on OR 4.1/0302, Patch 9409.
