Hi Anthony
You should raise an issue with ingres support providing them with the log-file
and info like this mail.
It is close to impossible to track this down yourself.
The callstack in the logfile should point the support team in the right direction.
Kim

Emne: [Openroad-users] Access Violation errors in OR2006
We're experiencing intermittent access violation errors in an app that's just been upgraded from OR4.1 (SP3) to OR2006.
Client platform: OR2006/Ingres 2006/XP SP2
Most weirdly, the problem happens when you're not actually doing anything particular in the OpenRoad application. For example you're working in Excel and Alt-Tab back to your OR app and POOF!!!! it disappears. Or better still, you plug in a USB key to your PC and out of the corner of your eye you see OR disappear off the screen. (To be fair that's only happened once.)
The trouble is it only occurs once every few days. Where do I start with debugging this? The w4gl log file does contain some call stack information, listing OR4GLNT.dll, w4glrun.exe and kernel32.dll.
Presumably there's a windows repaint event or application activate/deactivate event being raised and it's being picked up by a frame that hasn't shut down properly, or is in some other odd state.
Thanks for any ideas.
Anthony.
