OpenROAD users,

I have just downloaded the new 2006 version of OpenROAD and performed a
new install on my Windows XP PC. As part of the installation I was
asked which version of Ingres I wanted to install. I chose Ingres 2006
(the default). Being an XP PC, I did the installation using a local
administrator account, and then gave the users group write access to the
installation directory, so that files can be created and modified by the
startup routine and tools.

The installation seemed to work fine. As myself (a non-administrator
user), OpenROAD 2006 works fine. However, when I try to run isql or
qbf, I am getting the following error:

E_QF0154 Local or II_TEMPORARY directory NOT writable. The current
working directory or the temporary files directory (specified by
II_TEMPORARY) cannot have files created in it. Please check that you
have access rights to the directory and that sufficient disk space
exists to create and write files there.

I have checked the permissions on the temporary directory and users have
write access, and I can create files in the directory. I have even
tried changing the directory specified by II_TEMPORARY to the normal
windows temporary directory, but this makes no difference.

Has anyone else installed OpenROAD 2006 with Ingres 2006 on Windows? If
so, have you seen this problem and resolved it?

Martin Bloomfield.
