Anne,
It should run just fine on 2.6. There may well be some syntax changes and.or SQL changes that need to be dealt with, but all should
come out when you re-compile it... As for OpenRoad, there is NO migration path, pre se, for ABF to OpenRoad. There are or is a product out there that does some sort of conversion - Transforge I think it's called... but there is no pure migration tool. As for what version of ABF - whatever comes with 2.6 on Ingres...
Regards,
Rob McKenzie

Subject: [Openroad-users] Ingres and ABF/Vision
I'm passing on a question to the group that was posed to me.
There is an existing application currently running on Ingres 6.4 on Solaris 2.6 E450 Class hardware and the hardware is being retired. The application is ABF/Vision, don't know what versions.
They will be migrating the Ingres 6.4 to Ingres 2.6 on Solaris 10.
The one question: will an ABF/Vision application be able to run against Ingres 2.6 or does it need to be migrated to something else, like OpenROAD? If yes, is there a specific version of ABF they need to be at?
Thanks,
Anne Dail
