[Openroad-users] Not Stricly OR question but is related.....

We have a problem which I would like to know if anyone out there has a
decent solution for:-

We have a Sales Order/Production Planning system written in-house in
OpenRoad, this has been developed and maintained by myself and a
colleague who sit right next to each other, and therefore are able to
communicate between ourselves over the state of the code in the objects
that make up the system.

Now we are bringing onboard two colleagues in the US to help us with the
development of the system. As they are 3000 miles away, and in a
completely different timezone from us (6 hours difference), we are
concerned about managing the code. Currently we are in the middle of
making a fair few changes to the system so we can issue it to the US
part of our business, which means that large areas of the code are being
changed and we would like a way of tracking what has been done, what IS
being done and also by who. We would like a simple and easy (read not
too time-consuming) method of tracking this.

If OR was based on files, like ABF, we could use something like
Sourcesafe to ensure that everyone was aware of who was working on what
and whether or not changes have been completed, but as the code is held
internally within the database, SourceSafe isn't really an option.

Having just trolled through 7 years of usergroup e-mails on this
subject, I see it has been asked before, but I don't see any answers to
the question - perhaps I missed them,

How are you all managing OpenRoad code changes within groups of
developers???

Alex.
