[Openroad-users] OpenROAD and .net COM

Jonathan,

Dominic Merrin and myself looked at this around the 7/4/2005 - you might have
a copy of the e-mails or be able to get a copy from an archive somewhere?

In short we found that you need to define a public interface so that OpenROAD
can see the method. Declaring the method as you have, I suspect, will make it
visible to .net assemblies but not to things that use COM.

The following link shows this being done using C#, exposing a control to the
COM world.

Hope that's of some use.

Regards,
Jim

Hi all,

We have been using COM objects written in VB6 in our OpenROAD apps for
quite a while, but I wanted to start taking advantage of some .net
functionality (plus most of us here develop using vb.net now not VB6).

I replicated some of our VB6 classes in .net and deployed the project -
trying both exe and msi. Either way OpenROAD can see the classes that
are within the .net COM component but not the methods/functions within
them. The Registry and Type Library look ok.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Many thanks.

JONATHAN
