Hi,
An increasing number of our applications use the OpenRoad Application
Server, and recently we rolled some of these applications out to our
offices in America - they use the e-client and connect using HTTP over a
VPN.
Now that the applications are in use outside the normal UK working day,
we're finding it difficult to install new versions of the "back-end"
applications. Previously we would shut down the OR application server in
the evening, install the new versions and restart the application server.
Obviously we can't do that whilst our US offices are working. The
situation will only get worse as we roll the applications out to more
offices.
I seem to remember from the last UK IUA user group meeting that Bodo gave
a talk on a way to install back-end application updates on the fly without
having to restart the application server.
Does anyone have any pointers on where we could start with this?
Cheers,
Darran Smith
