[Openroad-users] Defining dll path

Of course you could have both test and production images running
simultaneously on the same PC
using different II_LIBU3GL variable settings.
That limitation Paul described does not apply to normal DLL's,
which export functions you can use as 3GL procedures in OpenROAD.
This only applies to COM/ActiveX-DLL's, which you can use as
ExternalClassLibraries.
They have to be registered using regsvr32, II_LIBU3GL has no influence
on these DLLs.

Hi Allan,
I'd say not both at the same time - unless you distribute the DLL as a
different file name.
In my experience windows can get confused if one DLL is not fully
unloaded before starting another.
This is especially true of dot net.
We use regsvr32 and regsvr32 /u to manage regular DLLS and gacutil for
dot net

Paul
thanks for this my knowledge of windows is limited (give me VMS
any day!!).
Using the path technique does this mean that you can have both a
test and production image running simultaneously on the same PC?
Thanks again for the help
Allan
