The Life of an Ingres Query Doug Inkster, Ingres Architect Have you ever
wondered what happens when you type Go? Join Doug Inkster, Ingres
Architect, as he walks you through the Life of an Ingres Query. His talk
will help you better understand the various steps in the execution of
your query and will give you a good appreciation for the architecture of
the Ingres server and, in particular, of the Ingres optimizer. You will
gain valuable information that will allow for more efficient queries
going forward and Doug will share some of his insights around the Ingres
optimizer as he moves through this talk. This talk will be a great
refresher for those of you familiar with Ingres as well to help prepare
you for The Ingres Source Architecture discussion.
