So long as you actually mean "Gateway compliant" rather than strict open 
SQL, I think the gateway can handle DB Events as well as DB Procedures 
it has been advised of. RTM for details.

SAVEPOINTS? Do you have a compelling reason to use them?

I think "CREATE TABLE ... AS SELECT" and "DROP ..." ARE open SQL.
