I guess its unlikely- but is there a chance that there is a suitable
external typelib in the unix openroad that can
allow this to work on unix? I am using 4.1/0403 OR.
It has some Microsoft ActiveX libraries available -eg Microsoft ActiveX
Plugin-
but not the same as I am using on windows platform OpenROAD.
(Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.8 Library)

Hi Jonathan
Disregard my previous email, I now have the OpenROAD class browser
looking at an external class - do you have an example of the method to
open a sqlserver Database and run a select loop into an OpenROAD array?
Thanks
Robert

Hi Robert
When you say Session - what kind of work do you want to do?
Do you want to run everyrthing in your app against sql server or just
the odd query?
If it is just the odd query we have created an external object and used
ADO (Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.8 Library).
Regards.
Jonathan

Hullo there
We would like to open a session on another database (SQL Server) from
OpenROAD 4.1/0403 Whats the best way of doing that? I assume a
DBSessionObject Connect is required, but I have only done this with
Ingres databases.
Thanks
Robert Allely
