[Openroad-users] Sorting an array on an object column

Fellow OR gurus,

I am building an application that contains an array of data. One of the
attributes of this array is Company details (Name, address etc). This
information is stored in a User Class (it's used in lots of places in
the application). In order to produce a report, I need to be able to
sort the array on one of its "normal" attributes (a varchar) and the
Company name. I know that this cannot be done directly as I get an
error when I try to sort on the column (specified as either
column.co_name or just column).

I thought I've done this before, but cannot remember how I did it. Is
there any clever workaround, or am I going to have to create a dummy
column in my array to store a duplicate of the company name purely for
sorting? Obviously I don't want to do this if I can avoid it due to the
overhead in keeping the data synchronised.

Any ideas gratefully received,
Martin Bloomfield.
